Communication Research Institute of William Penn
CRI (Membership Directory) provides Oskaloosa and Mahaska County's only television news coverage.
The non-profit organization produces a wide variety of shows including Oskaloosa Today, One Day Getaway, the Kids Show and the CRI Weekly News. The CRI Weekly News is an award winning television newscast that helps inform and sustain the community by tracking local government, Oskaloosa schools, and county officials.
CRI works with William Penn University's Digital Communications Department as a learning resource and professional outlet for students. CRI programming is broadcast on MCG channel 12.

KBOE
KBOE (Membership Directory), Oskaloosa's AM and FM radio stations, serve Oskaloosa and the surrounding area 24 hours a day with new country music programming, ABC News, local and area news, sports and weather.
In October of 1990, KBOE-FM was granted a license by the Federal Communications Commission to upgrade its power from 3,000 Watts to the current 50,000 Watts, providing the station with an extended coverage area.
KBOE-AM continues to broadcast with 250 Watts of power since November 15, 1950, when the station first hit the airwaves.
KBOE broadcasts late-breaking news, sever weather updates, and programs of local interest including Oskaloosa High School and William Penn University sporting events.

MCG
The Mahaska Communication Group (Membership Directory) brings the world to your home. Its fiber optics systems brings audio, video and high-speed Internet service to homes, businesses and public institutions.
MCG has two local channels - Channel 12 and Channel 17 - on its cable service to bring community events to peoples' living rooms. Channel 17 carries Oskaloosa High School and William Penn University athletic events. Channel 12 broadcasts local government meetings. Also, Central Reformed Church has its Sunday services broadcast on MCG and several other churches are committed to having their services broadcast on MCG. Also, the staff of the Communication Research Institute of William Penn University will broadcast programs on MCG.

The Oskaloosa Herald/Shopper
The Oskaloosa Herald (Membership Directory) has been Mahaska County's local newspaper since 1850. Today, the Herald is a 3,400 circulation, five-day, Monday through Friday, daily newspaper located at 1901 A Ave. W. The Herald also publishes the weekly Oskaloosa Shopper, bringing savings to area shoppers. It provides direct mail and offers commercial print capabilities for clients.
The Herald is a color publication with a fully electronic pagination newsroom. The Herald's coverage area is primarily Mahaska County, but as a member of the Associated Press, the paper has access to state, national and international news. The Herald has the area's most visited website at www.oskaloosa.com.
The Herald is owned by Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc., of Birmingham, AL. It is part of a five-newspaper cluster in Southern Iowa composed of the Herald, the Pella Chronicle, the Knoxville Journal-Express, the Ottumwa Courier and the Centerville Daily Iowegian.
